Itinerary

Day One:

Arrive Bangalore and transfer to Mysore

Morning: Arrive Bangalore.

Afternoon: Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to Mysore. Mysore, once the capital of the Wodeyar kingdom, is today the second largest city in Karnataka and one of the finest in southern India. Small, easygoing, famous for its silks and sandalwood, it is a city of fine gardens, tree- lined boulevards, art galleries and an intriguing palace.Mysore’s ten day Dessara festival in September-October is still celebrated with medieval pageantry.

Evening: Overnight at Mysore

Day Two:

Mysore & Somnathpur Sightseeing

Morning: Before breakfast , proceed for a heritage walk with your guide,who will explain the history and heritage of Mysore. Heritage walk commences from Mysore city Town hall, Clock tower, Palace North gate and K.R. circle, R. Hospital and back to Town hall. You will also stop at a small vegetarian hotel to taste Masala Dosa followed by Tea. Return to hotel for Breakfast.Later visit Somnathpur .The Keshava Temple stands at the edge of the tranquil village of Somnathpur.

Afternoon: Proceed for a sightseeing of Mysore. Visit Maharaja’s palace built in 1911-1912. Visit the art gallery .

Evening: Visit the devaraja fruit and vegetable market. For a visitor to this city, Devaraja market is an apt place to get a flavor of the local people’s . With more than 100 years of history, this market is well knitted into the heritage of Mysore. If you are new to the bazaars of India in general, do not miss Devaraja Market. This is a good sample of a traditional Indian market place that is colourful, noisy, vibrant and a tad chaotic. Overnight at the hotel.

Day Three:

Mysore to Kabini

Morning: After breakfast proceed to Kabini.

Afternoon: Enjoy a game drive in the sanctuary.

Evening: Overnight at Kabini.

Day Four:

Kabini

Morning and Afternoon: Early morning proceed for a Jungle Safari. During the safari, which lasts for two hours the visitor has a good opportunity to sight the herbivores. Sightings of the predators are less frequent, but improve Considerably during the summer.

Evening: Proceed for boat safari through the sanctuary. Overnight at Kabini.

Day Five:

Kabini – Wayanad

Morning and Afternoon:  Wayanad is truly an adventure escape waiting to be discovered! On arrival check inn to the hotel. In the afternoon visit the Muthanga wildlife sanctuary – (Subject to weather conditions &Entry by Dept of Forest).

Optional - Muthanga offers a rare chance to see herd of elephants, deer’s, gaurs, etc. This area spread over 345 sq km is rich with fauna and flora, and comes under Project Elephant.

Evening: Return and overnight at the resort / (Optional Tree House ).

Day Six:

Wayanad

Morning: After breakfast visit Edakkal Cave: (senior citizens with any walking difficulties / Heart issues are not recommended – The cave will remain closed on all Mondays & National holidays).

Afternoon: Early afternoon return to hotel and rest of the day at leisure

Evening: Overnight at the resort / (Optional Tree House )

Day Seven:

Wayanad to Calicut - Train journey to Ernakulam

Day: After an early breakfast transfer to Calicut. Met on arrival at Ernakulam and transfer to Hotel in Fort Kochi. Kochi (colonial name Cochin) is the green commercial capital of Kerala, a cluster of islands located on the coast of the Arabian sea with one of the finest natural harbors in the world .. The harbour is the nucleus around which Cochin and its mainland part Ernakulam has grown to attain such strategic important over the centuries as underlined by the sobriquet “Queen of the Arabian Sea “. Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala, being the most cosmopolitan and modern city of Kerala where the best shopping, markets and bazaars are located.

Night: Overnight in Cochin.

Day Eight:

Cochin – Kochi Nivasi program

Morning: Your day starts at 0900 hrs , when your guide takes you to Fort Cochin to visit The St Francis Church, the oldest European Church in India ,where Vasco de Gama the first European traveller to India was originally buried here. Also visit the Chinese fishing nets believed to be brought to Kochi by the Chinese Traders.. After Fort Cochin , take an Autorikshaw ride (commonly known as Tuk Tuk) to Mattancherry (10 minutes) - Dutch Palace at Mattancherry is renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana. The Jewish Synagogue at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town. A walk through the jew street is a pleasing experience.

Afternoon: By noon climb the local bus from Mattancherry to Broadway ,the famous wholesale market in the down town. The bus journey is a thrilling experience passing through the bridges , narrow roads and finally the Mahatma Gandhi road , when you enter the city. Later enjoy a vegetarian Kerala lunch at a local restaurant. After Lunch , a stroll along the long tree-lined coastal pathway that lines the backwater is well worth the time spent, especially late afternoon or dusk. The bustling backwaters, dotted with fishing boats, speedboats, ships, tankers and passenger boats, can be observed from this walkway that lines the coast. Later drive back to your hotel in Fort Kochi. Fresh up before you are going to witness Kathakali dance show at a local theatre near to your hotel.

Evening: Visit to a nearby theatre to witness Kathakali dance (17.00 Hrs – 19.00 Hrs). The Kathakali is the famous art form of Kerala with elaborate make up for the artists, each performance based on a story. It will be interesting to watch from the time the artist starts the makeup. Overnight at the hotel.

Day Nine:

Cochin – Cherthala

Morning and Afternoon: After a leisurely breakfast transfer to Cherthala. Check in to your home stay. Set in the middle of a working farm, it is a house of openness and light, serenaded by birds, shaded by ancient trees and lulled by gentle breeze from the backwaters. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are with the family and other guests around the family dining table. The area offers scenic village lanes for walks, quiet nooks for the avid  reader and calm stretches of water to tempt you to oars. You can watch birds, go fishing or just laze and be peaceful!

Evening: Overnight at Home stay.

Day Ten:

Cherthala

Day: Full day at your Home stay. Engage in various optional activities offered by the home stay.

Night: Overnight at Home stay.

Day Eleven:

Cherthala – Alleppey House boat

Day: After a leisurely breakfast board your Houseboat by noon.  The crew comprises of a Captain, helper and a cook who will cater to your requirements. The house boat will cruise through the tranquil backwaters, wider and narrow canals passing by lush green paddy fields, villages, temples, churches, rustic houses etc. giving you an opportunity to view the life on the backwaters – it beats at its own gentle rhythm. Alleppey, the nerve center of backwater tourism is known for its spectacular snake - boat race, each manned by over a hundred oarsmen held in August, every year. Your lunch and dinner will be  served on board the house boat – a simple meal prepared as per traditional Kerala cuisine . The Boat will anchor at a calm bay during sunset and you will be tucked to sleep by the lullabies of the gentle waves. All meals will be served on board.

Night: Overnight on board.

Day Twelve:

Alleppey – Marari

Morning: After breakfast disembark house boat at 09 AM and transfer to Marari. Marari offers endless miles of superb sand beaches backed by swaying palms, virgin territory where you can experience the local charm/and traditional Keralan Hospitality at it best.

Afternoon: Enjoy the beaches / village walks / resort facilities / Ayurveda facilities on direct payment basis.

Evening: Overnight at the resort.

Day Thirteen:

Marari

Day: Full day at leisure. Enjoy the beaches / village walks / resort facilities / Ayurveda facilities on direct payment basis.

Night: Overnight at the resort.

Day Fourteen:

Marari – Cochin Airport

After breakfast in time transfer to Cochin Airport to connect your onward flight.
